Both cats and dogs are required to be licensed. Licenses are due for renewal by January 31st each year.

Garbage Pickup Schedule
The current garbage pickup schedule is:

Snow Removal
By ordinance property owners must have sidewalks adjoining their property cleared of snow within 12 hours of snow fall.
Yard Maintenance
It is the responsibility of property owners to keep their yards and boulevards mowed and free of garbage. Trees are to be trimmed as to not interfere with sidewalk or road traffic.

Cemetery Information
Plots in the Edgemont Cemetery may be purchased at City Hall.
Garbage
Garbage must be in garbage bags, then placed in provided receptacles.

Garbage needs to be out by 7 a.m. and placed in the alley if possible. If the alley is not available; place on the front curb of street.
Regional Landfill
Custer-Fall River Landfill is located south of town. A permit is required to dump at the landfill. Permits are good from Jan 1 – Dec 31 and must be renewed annually. The landfill is open for dumping from 7:30 to 3:00 Monday – Friday. For current material fees and other information contact Barker Concrete & Construction, Inc: 605.662.7760
Yard Waste Information
The City of Edgemont has a Rubble-site for yard waste only, tree branches, leaves and yard clippings. If you bring yard waste in plastic bags, you must empty them and take the bags with you. This site will be open to City Residents every Friday from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. April through October. On the third Thursday of each month, the City crew will pick up yard waste. Branches must be cut to 36 inches and bundled with biodegradable material. Leaves and lawn clippings must be bagged or in clearly marked receptacles.
Water Restrictions
Water restrictions are in effect from June 1 through September 30 annually.
Allowed watering hours are:
6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from
6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Properties with even addresses, water on even days .
Properties with odd addresses, water on odd days.
No watering on the 31 of the month.
Hand watering is allowed. Those properties with automatic sprinkler systems may water during the hours of 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m.
